Jonathan Van Ness: Imaginary Living Room Olympian

About This Show

With his irrepressible energy, boundless positivity, and hilarious stream of quips, Jonathan Van Ness is not only the breakout star among the ever-helpful cast of the Netflix hit Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. He’s also a natural-born comedian, as the California hairdresser turned reality-TV sensation is proving to delighted audiences worldwide.

Van Ness discovered his passion for stand-up around the same time that Queer Eye became a media phenomenon in early 2018. Low-key sets at shows by comedian friends throughout that year led to his debut tour, which was recorded for the web docuseries Hotels.comedy Presents 10 Nights With Jonathan Van Ness.

He loved being on stage so much, he’s hitting the road for his first round of full-fledged and fully hilarious comedy performances. Named as a cheeky tribute to his idol Michelle Kwan and his own figure-skating Olympic dreams, Road to Beijing brings Van Ness’ wild and wholly unique brand of humor to audiences in the U.S., the U.K., and Ireland. As he says, “I’m gonna stand up or cry trying.”
