This is the streaming NY premiere of Tony García’s Interview with a Mexican, adapted from Gustavo Arellano’s nationally syndicated advice column ¡Ask a Mexican! It gives way to candid conversations about the significance of Cinco de Mayo, people’s movements for social justice, and how live theater will save our country from itself!
The show is being presented as part of a virtual residency by Su Teatro from Denver, Colorado, the third eldest Chicano theater in the United States — only Teatro Campesino and Teatro de la Esperanza precede it. The group has established a national reputation for homegrown productions that continue to speak to the living history and experience of Chicanos and all Americans.
