About the Show

In a delightfully skewed approach to dancemaking, John Jasperse?s new evening-length project Giant Empty, elevates everyday, often awkward movements to the realm of high art. Seemingly incongruous juxtapositions?like two earnest women swinging buckets while two wild-eyed men squirm at their feet–challenge our assumptions of where we begin and where we end. The performance explores the divisions that are simultaneously created and dismantled between inside and outside, self and others in this sensual, brainy endeavor.
