New York City
Cafe Society was the hottest place in town! The legendary New York jazz venue was the first racially integrated club in the city and was famously “the wrong place for the right people.”
From its idealistic anti-racist beginnings to its demise in the ‘Red Scare’ of the late 1940s, Cafe Society hosted stars including Lena Horne, Count Basie, Billie Holiday and Sarah Vaughan.
This holiday season 59E59 brings to life New York City’s best-ever jazz club for three weeks only! Relive history with Evan Pappas, Cyrille Aimée, Allan Harris, Charenee Wade and the Cafe Society All-Star jazz band!
