November Literature Listings 2006Writers…In a NYC Living Room…Performing

Wednesday November 7th at 7:30 pm “7 People, 7 Minutes” Free! Sign up at 7:00pm and perform for 7 minutes each! Test out new ideas; theater, dance, music-whatever! Open Performance begins at 7:30pm. Sponsored by the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs Tuesday, November 14th at 7:00 pm will feature “Experiments and Disorders,” curated by Sherry Mason and featuring Jay Key and Greg Lichtenberg. Jay Key is a screenwriter living in Brooklyn, who currently has five feature-length scripts under option to producers. Greg Lichtenberg’s essays and fiction have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Fence, Dragonfire and elsewhere. Tickets for this event are either $5.00 or can be purchased with a TDF voucher. Wednesday, November 15th at 7:00pm will feature “QT (formerely Homotext),” curated by Sara Marcus and featuring Blair Mastbaum and Thorn Kief Hillsbery. Blair Mastbaum is the author of the novel “Clay’s Way,” which won the Lambda Literary Prize for debut fiction and was recognized by the New York Public Library in 2005. Thorn Kief Hillsbery’s most recent novel “What We Do is Secret” was a finalist for the 2006 Lambda Literary Award; he is also the author of “War Boy” and a former editor and columnist for Outside Magazine. Tickets are $5.00 dollars, or can be purchased with a TDF voucher.
