New York Musical Theatre Festival 2006 Awards Gala

Even though it’s the end of the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) season, that doesn’t mean the party stops! So get that tux dry cleaned or pull out your finest dress, because it’s time for the New York Musical Theatre Festival 2006 Awards Gala!

The Drowsy Chaperone’s Bob Martin serves as Master of Ceremonies as winners of the NYMF 2006 Awards for Excellence are celebrated, and Broadway producer Kevin McCollum (The Drowsy Chaperone, Rent, Avenue Q, [title of show], High Fidelity) is honored. The evening also features special performances by: Drowsy cast members Sutton Foster and Beth Leavel, the cast of [title of show], winners of the NYMF 2006 Awards for Excellence, and other celebrity guests.

The NYMF 2006 Awards for Excellence highlight achievement in nine categories, including: Most Promising New Work, Excellence in Musical Theatre Writing (in three separate categories – book, music, and lyrics), Excellence in Direction & Choreography, Excellence in Design, Outstanding Ensemble Performance, and Outstanding Individual Performance. In addition to the juried awards, the festival also presents the Best in Fest award, voted on by audience members.
