Leslie Uggams made her national television debut at age six on the TV and hasn’t looked back. Some of her early credits include: the musical The Boyfriend and Hallelujah, Baby!, originally written for Lena Horne and earning her the 1968 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Broadway Musical Comedy. In 1970 her portrayal of Kizzy in Roots, won her the Critics Choice Award for Best Supporting Actress and her first Emmy nomination for Best Leading Actress. She returned to Broadway to star in the musical Blues in the Night; and a run in the hit musical Jerry’s Girls. In 1988 she starred as Reno Sweeney, in the National Company of the Lincoln Center Production of Anything Goes. Most recently, Ms. Uggams starred in the Broadway smash Thoroughly Modern Millie and On Golden Pond. Don’t miss this rare intimate engagement with this beloved superstar.
