A synesthetic evening of art, music and dance inspired by the Russian mystics and the Russian avant-garde. Three floors of dramatic paintings by the Russian mystical artist Nicholas Roerich, located in the expansive brownstone museum dedicated to his work, will serve as inspiration for the live piano music improvisations by Stuart Isakoff. The combination of paintings and music will be interpreted in an improvisational dance created by the principal dancers of the renowned Wendy Osserman Dance Company. The result will be a magical evening of total art – music, painting and dance – all in celebration of the Russian avant-garde movement that flourished in the two decades before the Russian Revolution.
