About This Show

Join professor Richard Brown as he has an intimate, live conversation with film and stage star Sigourney Weaver.
Best known for her Academy Award nominated turn in the Alien franchise, she is one of only ten thespians to receive two Academy Award nominations in the same year. Weaver received a Best Actress nomination for her role as gorilla obsessed Dian Fossey in Gorillas in the Mist and a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her role as the bitchy trustfund baby (who gets her comeuppance) in Working Girl, opposite Harrison Ford and Melanie Griffith. She did not win either one, but she did win a Golden Globe for each role. (Let’s also not forget Ghostbusters)!

Since the fall of 1970 when Richard Brown interviewed his first guest, Movies101 has provided a haven for New York’s film lovers. Eventually the course would become “New York’s Premiere Film Class” (The N.Y. Times).

Prof. Brown brings his class to a national audience on the interview talk show “Movies 101” with guests such as Susan Sarandon, Jennifer Aniston, George Clooney, Martin Scorsese, and Daniel Day-Lewis.
The show will be taped for air on AMC.
