Man of La Mancha in Concert

The Staten Island Philharmonic presents Man of La Mancha in Concert. Best-known for the soul-stirring song “The Impossible Dream,” the musical is based on Miguel de Cervantes’ classic novel Don Quixote. It tells the story of an eccentric 17th century knight who sees life “not as it is, but as it ought to be!” He duels with windmills, idealizes a less-than-appropriate woman, and brings his family to their wits’ end. Ultimately, however, audiences are left with the feeling that this man who questions authority, fights corruption, and champions the downtrodden may not be so crazy after all.
