Lucia Pulido

Following the release of Cantos Religiosos y paganos de Colombia (Intuition), vocalist Lucia Pulido and percussionist Satoshi Takeishi offer songs from their repertoire of traditional Colombian music along with a sampling of their recent collaboration with composer Ivan Benavides (Bloque, Sidestepper, Carlos Vives), joined by cellist Erik Friedlander,Tsutomu Takeishi on bass and Adam Kolker on clarinet . A dynamic fusing of traditional sounds with minimalist textures and electronic manipulation, the mood of the new work is more layered and complex, more ethereal, more spatial, and yet at the same time very earthy and Colombian.
