Longfellow 200th Birthday Tribute

Hear five great choral works, inspired by his poetry, composed by Sir Arthur Sullivan, Sir Edward Elgar, David Del Tredici, Ned Rorem, and Stephen Schwartz.

Pre-Concert readings of his poems by great great grandchildren of Longfellow begin at 7 PM, and are free to ticket holders. Longfellow’s poems were translated throughout the English-speaking world, making him the most famous American of his day.
