About This Show

When young Edgar Allan Poe falls in love with Thomas Jefferson’s slave daughter, he plots to get the President to set her free. In this romantic comedy, poet and president lock horns over the questions of slavery, freedom, passion and rationality.

Jefferson and Poe is an original new opera by Peabody conservatory graduate Damon Ferrante and poet Daniel Mark Epstein.
