A one-night only, star-spangled salute to the movie music of Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland (the "Gable & Garbo of Hollywood High," and top box office stars of Hollywood's Golden Era). Famed choreographer/director Busby Berkeley once described Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland as "the greatest kid performers in show business." MGM studios agreed and starred them in a series of smash hit "let's put on a show" movie musicals. The concert is a stroll down memory lane with a tuneful, nostalgic look at their classic films, including Girl Crazy, Babes in Arms, Strike Up the Band, and Babes on Broadway, as well as their reunion years later on CBS television. The evening includes unforgettable songs by the Gershwins, Rodgers & Hart, and Harold Arlen & Yip Harburgh, featuring the standards "Embraceable You," "Strike Up the Band," "Where or When," "I Wish I Were in Love Again," and "I Got Rhythm," among many others. Three-time MAC Award winner Jeff Harner and Broadway star Shauna Hicks recreate the duo perfectly. Backstage says, "They got rhythm. They got talent. Who could ask for anything more?" Whether you've seen a Mickey & Judy film or not, their treasure chest of American standards makes for an evening of good old-fashioned entertainment everyone will enjoy, so bring the whole family!
