Award-winning New Zealand Jazz artist, Hamish Smith, flows with rhythmic inventiveness and a unique groove-centric approach. He has been described by NEA Jazz Master, Todd Barkan, as “a modern marvel – one of the great young bassists in the world”. Hamish is bringing his newly formed quintet to The Jazz Gallery for the first time and will present a collection of compositions that he has developed over the past few years, that highlight his experiences as a New Zealand artist living in New York City.
