About This Show

A Spoke And Heard Thang, this multimedia spoken word poetry dramatic production conceived by Geoffrey D. Holman a..k.a. Priest and is Directed by Emmitt Thrower. The project is a collaboration between the two artists and is produced under “SEE MORE Productions” their jointly owned company. The show uses video footage, original music, poetry/spoken word and dance to unveil the real stories of the inhabitants that survive in the fire of the urban American ghettos and housing projects. Their realities and their unrealities are explored through words, dance, music and images. This experimental play offers up suggestions on ways to survive “between the bricks” and a glimpse at possible ways to step out into the light. Through poetic drama, rhythm and humor, these colorful urban lives are woven together like a fine hand made quilt. The tapestry so unique that it can only be created within the confines of the inner city. A diverse and sometimes hostile world that grows out of “Ghetto Material”. This is what produces the fabrics that creates the cloth that wipes the tears, blood and sweat away from the souls of the affected.
