Eisa Davis returns to Joe’s Pub with her unique brand of stripped down, soulful, piano-lush reveries. She first caught the world’s ear when her original songs were featured regularly on the Showtime series Soul Food, and her debut full-length album, Something Else, was just released this December in Japan. In a style that Time Out New York calls “the sophisticated side of the blues impetus”, Theatermania “transcendent”, and The New Yorker simply “fierce”, she writes hypnotic, cathartic, always poetic laments over uplifting chord progressions, with hand carved lyrics that take us on a walk through our hearts.
