Dick Dale is the “King of the Surf Guitar.” He was not only the first person to create the surf music sound, he was the first to take a sport and develop a music for it. He was also the first musician to have more than one record on the Top Ten charts at one time, and to have five songs from a single album on the charts at once. In 1996 Dale was presented a Platinum Record award for his performance recording of “Miserlou,” the guitar instrumental behind Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction.
