David et Jonathas
About the Show
Written by Charpentier in 1688 for the Jesuit College Louis-Le-Grand in Paris, France, David et Jonathas is a Baroque five-act sacred opera that recounts the love between David, the future king of the nation of Isreal, and Johnathan, the eldest son of Saul, King of Isreal, and their struggle to reconcile their aaffection for each other.
This production will also be presented in Washington DC at the Davis Performing Arts Center May 2-4.
