Autopsy of a Night at a Bar follows Val, a dreamer stuck in the Midwest. On her 18th birthday, she finds out she’s pregnant. While Val considers an abortion (stage left), her mother, Nora, also faces a difficult decision (stage right). Yes, we’re watching the past unfold at the same time.

Side by side, mother and daughter navigate the burdens of womanhood and the lasting repercussions of our parents’ choices. See, Nora’s pregnant too. But she has her own dilemma: Val’s sister is dying. In order to save one child, Nora must sentence her other daughter to the life of a savior sibling. She doesn’t want to, but Val is the only cure.
