Agrippina

Celebrated soprano Ruth Ann Swenson makes her City Opera debut in the title role of Handel’s Agrippina. Jennifer Rivera sings Nerone, Heidi Stober debuts as Poppea, David Walker is Ottone, and Portuguese bass João Fernandez debuts as the Emperor Claudio. Ransom Wilson, who made his conducting debut with the company last year with Acis and Galatea, returns to the podium; the production is by Lillian Groag and was last presented by the company in 2002.
