17th Annual “Open Your Heart” Auction

About the Show

Broadway’s Billy Porter and global recording artist Ari Gold will perform at the 17th Annual “Open Your Heart” Auction to benefit Bailey House, New York’s oldest AIDS housing provider.
In addition to other selections, the two performers will sing Burt Bachrach’s “The Look of Love,” which is the theme of the event.

Billy Porter is well known to New York audiences from his stellar Broadway performances in Grease, Smokey Joe’s Café, Five Guys Named Moe and Miss Saigon. Porter has recorded two CDs of Broadway, soul and gospel tunes and has written his first show “Ghetto Superstar”,” a spiritual, sexual and musical odyssey, which will premiere at The Public Theater on February 28.

The New York-based electro-crooner, Ari Gold released his second album, “Space Under Sun,” earlier this year, which debuted in the number one slot on the Outvoice Charts. With his successful 2001 self-titled debut, Gold won the 2002 Outmusic Award for outstanding debut recording. As an acclaimed recording artist his music has an easy-listening R&B sound, steeped in pop and dance beats.

This year’s auction will feature exclusive photographs by celebrities of “The Look of Love,” and a vast array of items, including fine art and photography, couture, home furnishings, and travel and entertainment packages.
