Reock & Roll Presents 1971 Concert for Bangladesh Retrospective

About the Show

The historic Concert for Bangladesh which took place on August 1, 1971 at Madison Square Garden in New York City was the first ever musical humanitarian aid project of its kind featuring George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr, Leon Russell, Bob Dylan, Billy Preston, Badfinger, Jim Keltner and Ravi Shankar. This one day super group event brought international awareness and fund relief efforts to refugees from Bangladesh and became the model for all future music relief efforts including “Live Aid” in 1985. The high-performance group Reock and Roll Revue will perform the Concert for Bangladesh in its entirety interspersed with a video presentation explaining how the concert was conceived and the preparation leading up to the day of the concert.
