Thursday Nite in Baghdad

Marilyn Mayblum recounts the danger, humor, and chaos that she and her troupe experienced when she produced a Las Vegas-style revue at the Moulin Rouge in Baghdad during the Iran-Iraq war in the 80’s. Though the battlefield was miles away, men with machine guns were everywhere, phone conversations were monitored, food was tasteless and “you’d go to bed at night and just pray you wouldn’t be bombed out of your bed.”
