American Patchwork Quartet (APQ), led by multi-Grammy-winning guitarist and vocalist Clay Ross, reimagines American folk songs by blending jazz sophistication, country twang, West African rhythms, and East Asian ornamentation. The result is a unique fusion of tradition and innovation.
Ross, also the founder of the acclaimed Gullah group Ranky Tanky, joins forces with a stellar lineup of Grammy-winning artists—Falguni Shah, a Hindustani classical vocalist; Moto Fukushima, a Grammy nominated bassist; and Ocie Davis, a jazz percussionist.
APQ symbolizes unity in diversity, weaving America’s cultural mosaic into an intricate and authentic musical narrative. Their carefully curated songs reflect the joys, sorrows, and resilience of a nation built on shared dreams and diverse histories.
Far from a random mix of genres, APQ’s music is a deliberate homage to America’s past and a celebration of its vibrant present. Like a cherished quilt, their melodies come together in harmony to create something timeless and meaningful.
