Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet)

Hydeware Theatre kicks off its third season of interactive theatre with Ann-Marie Macdonald’s comic masterpiece, Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet), a play that questions nearly everything you thought you knew about Shakespeare’s Othello and Romeo and Juliet.

Macdonald twists the plots of Shakespeare’s masterpieces by asking the questions: “Could these two plays actually be comedies if a ‘fool’ were to warn Othello of Iago’s treachery and inform Tybalt of Romeo’s engagement to Juliet? Could this ‘fool’ have the power to change the plot and character motivations of two of the greatest tragedies of Western Civilization?”
