Written by the Twin Cities’ Mark Forgy, Kevin Bowen, and C. S. McNerlin with additional music by Martha Davis, this new musical is a tale based on a true story, a coming-of-age adventure of Mark Forgy, a young Minnesotan who flees conformity during the turbulent 60s and embarks on a quest of self-discovery by going to Europe. There, on the Mediterranean island of Ibiza, his fortunes change as he becomes tied to a Hungarian artist with a mysterious past. The unlikely bond between Mark and Elmyr de Hory, the most talented and successful art forger of the twentieth century, transforms his life forever. For more than 20 years Elmyr’s bogus masterpieces have filtered into prestigious collections on five continents. This touching play weaves art, deception, illusion, humor, tragedy and hope in storytelling at its lyrical best.
This intriguing musical includes 19 original songs under the direction of veteran Director, Sara Pillatzki-Warzeha and Musical Director Roderick Phipps-Kettlewell.
