About the Show

Join narator, Patricia Hampl as she takes us on a musical exploration of the history and humor behind Prohibition and Minnesota’s long-standing love/hate relationship with "King Alcohol," this research-rich yet light-hearted program features the songs and stories of 19th-century Temperance Society meetings of Northern Minnesota, the Minnesota Dry Federation (1918), the Hutchinson Family Singers (the state’s original protest singer/songwriters and founders of Hutchinson, Minn.), and a full cup of good ol’ tunes about bootlegging, drinking and gambling.
