Propelled by rhythms of reggae, calypso, and ska, this theatrical journey of Salt Fish & Bakes from South to North America is Gavin Lawrence’s own family’s saga, a legacy filled with West Indian humor and pathos. On a stage filled with the smells and sights of the traditional Guyanese dish – salt fish and bakes – a 92-year-old matriarch corrals her rascally grandchildren, meting out Caribbean family justice as pranks, escapades, and capers are exposed.
