About the Show

Broadway composer Jason Robert Brown made a splash with this daring 1999 musical. Directed by Harold Prince and with a book by Alfred Uhry, the production comes to Minneapolis as part of a 20-week national tour. Parade is the story of Leo Frank–a proud, soft-spoken Northern Jew living in the American South in 1913. Frank is wrongly accused and convicted of killing a 13-year-old-girl. The story spreads like wildfire through the newspapers, along with a virulent anti-semitism. Although the subject matter is disturbing, at the heart of the musical is a passionate love story and a rich, multi-layered score. Songs include “All the Wasted Time,” “This Is Not Over Yet,” “That’s What He Said,” and “You Don’t Know This Man.”
