About the Show

From the composers of the smash hit Mamma Mia comes Chess, a highly acclaimed musical that transforms the fiercely competitive globe-trotting world of Grand Champion Chess into a supercharged mix of romantic rivalries and 1980s political intrigue. Based on an East meets West love triangle, the players, lovers, politicians and spies make their moves to the pulse of a monumental and diverse rock score, including the international hits “One Night in Bangkok,” “Anthem,” and “I Know Him So Well.” Hailed by Time has having “one of the best rock scores ever produced, ” Chess features music by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaues, lyrics by Tim Rice and a book by Richard Nelson.

In addition to the regular schedule, performances of Chess are arranged for Monday, November 13 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, November 19 at 2:30 PM. The 2:30 PM matinee on November 19 replaces that day’s 7:30 PM evening show.
The show on Sunday, November 5 is an ASL interpreted/audio described performance.
A post-show audience discussion will be held following the performance on Thursday, November 9.
