The Magnolia Ballet is a piece written for our times. This poignant tale mixes drama, dance, poetry, and spectacle to explore the relationship between a Black father and his queer son in rural Georgia. Z and his father, Ezekiel, struggle to define who they are together and separately in their old family home where the ghosts live inside the walls. Plowshares Theatre Company, Michigan’s only professional African American theater, is proud to present a piece written for our times. The play contains mature content and language.
