The Guys

Anne Nelson’s play, The Guys centers around Joan, a New York editor, who is at a loss to know how to help in the days following September 11th. She meets Nick, a fire captain, faced with the painful task of writing the eulogies of the men lost in the attacks. Joan helps Nick write the words he must deliver at the funerals of those firemen who died on the day of the terrorist attacks. Their dialogue begins to bridge the divide between two very different people, between all of us and “the guys” who lost their lives that day.
