Tosca

Opera New England of Cape Cod, Inc. presents Puccini’s beloved opera Tosca. It is performed by National Lyric Opera under the direction of Michael Capasso.

Featured in the title role is soprano Susan Foster and tenor Peter Furlong as her lover, the painter Mario Cavaradossi. They are caught in the political intrigue of Napoleonic Rome and Tosca is forced to commit murder in order to save her lover from the evil Baron Scarpia. All does not end well.

The production is under the direction of the Italian director Silvia Casarin Rizzolo who returns to the United States after a triumphant debut last season conducting Madama Butterfly for DiCapo Opera Theater in New York and National Lyric Opera in New England.

Michael Capasso will preview the opera at 1:30pm. This is free to contributors of Opera New England of Cape Cod. There is a $5.00 fee to non-contributors.
