The Two Orphans

Brandeis University hosts the premiere of playwright Theresa Rebeck’s new musical, The Two Orphans. The show traces the story of two African-American sisters who struggled with survival in a hostile New Orleans in the aftermath of the Civil War and their liberation from slavery.

Rebeck co-wrote the lyrics with John Sheehy, while composer Kim Sherman wrote the music. Dennis Garnhum directs.

Matinee performances are2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 and Sunday, December 11.
