From its start Off-Off-Broadway, Stephen Belber’s Tape has found great success; from The Humana Festival at The Actor’s Theatre of Louisville, to a motion picture by film-maker Richard Linklater, to a successful Off Broadway run. Now it comes to Boston for the first time. Tape has received high praise as “as an edgy drama that delves into the ideas of social and personal responsibility.” At a Motel 6 in Lansing, Michigan, three high school friends, Jon, Vince, and Amy, reunite for the first time in ten years. However, during the course of their reunion, secrets are exposed, friendships are put to the test, and futures hang in the balance. And it’s all caught on tape.
AYTB’s production of the play is directed by local talent Robert Bettencourt.
AYTB veterans Will Howell, Braden Weeks and Lesley Gurule star as the friends whose personal relationships are strained.
