They describe themselves as “the dance company for those who don’t like dance… and for those who do.” Formed in a Dartmouth College class in 1971, today Pilobolus is a major American dance company with international influence. The unorthodox company combines a collaborative choreographic process with a unique weight-sharing approach to partnering, forming a new kind of modern dance that is imaginative, innovative, whimsical, astonishingly athletic, and extremely accessible.
