A production of ArtsPower National Touring Theatre, Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel is based on the classic book by Virginia Lee Burton. The story sets out to show that unwavering friendship and steadfast determination can overcome any obstacle. Mary Anne, Mike Mulligan’s loyal and dependable steam shovel has always been called upon to take up the most challenging tasks. But when modern diesel engines begin taking over, it looks as though this tight-knit duo may be out of work completely.
