Fall

Quirky, touching and laugh-out-loud funny, Fall is the story of a young girl’s passage through adolescence. A fourteen-year-old obsessed with scuba diving, Lydia is stuck going to a swing dancing summer camp – with her mom and dad. As her parents try to Lindy some romance back into their marriage, Lydia begins a surprising flirtation of her own. Beautifully told against the rhythms of great music from the heyday of swing, the show touches a warm, familiar chord, drawing a whimsical yet moving portrait of Lydia’s rite of passage. Written by Brown University graduate Bridget Carpenter, one of the most promising playwrights in the country, this production was one of the highlights of the 1999 Providence New Play Festival. This show is directed by Neal Baron.
