When paying homage to the classics, be they historical or contemporary, Ryan Landry and the Gold Dust Orphans never disappoint in the laugh department. However, Death of a Saleslady also promises to be Landry’s most complete and dramatic adaptation to date. In a departure from the “vaudeville” style the Orphans have come to be known for, Saleslady offers twists of Miller’s masterwork previously unimagined, creating new situations, both comic and tragic while retaining respect for Miller and this classic play.
