About the Show

Cabaret focuses on the romantic relationship between 19 year old English cabaret performer Sally Bowles and young American writer Cliff Bradshaw whle portraying the turbulent life in Germany during the late 1920’s at the beginning of the Nazi’s rise to power.  A subplot involves a doomed romance between German boarding house owner Fraulein Schneider and her suitor Herr Schultz, a Jewish fruit vendor.  The emcee of a seedy Berlin night club opens the story as the Master of Ceremonies and gives commentary throughout on the current state of affairs in Germany.
