A Grand Night for Singing

About the Show

Gloucester Stage presents Rodgers and Hammerstein’s A Grand Night for Singing. Conceiver Walter Bobbie combined familiar tunes from Oklahoma!, Carousel, South Pacific, and The King and I with brilliant songs from the lesser-known shows such as Allegro, and Flower Drum Song to take you on a journey through the stages of love. These innovative musical arrangements leave no doubt as to how terrifically “up to date” the songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein remain.

Tony McLean, former President of Broadway in Boston, directs a stellar cast that includes Tony award-nominee Maureen Brennan, Sarah Corey, Luke Hawkins , Brendan McNab, and Kristen Vale. Michael Kreutz conducts a six piece on-stage orchestra.
