Spotlight: The Scottish Play
Written & Directed by Carly Hagan (SU '27)

The Scottish Play dissects the deep-rooted tragedy of Shakespeare's Macbeth, and unfolds a story we have grown far too comfortable with. For over four hundred years, these infamous characters have lived on the stage. For four hundred years, they have been stuck in a vicious cycle of brutality and constructed “fate,” but what if the characters finally resisted the script and the roles they’ve been given?

In this deconstruction of metatheatre, The Scottish Play extrapolates the line between actors and audience, man and woman, power and evil.
