About the Show

The Suffolk University's Theatre Department proudly presents

Spotlight: On This Land
Written by Sa'adallah Wannous
Adapted & Directed by Rama Hejazi (SU '25)

On this Land (originally The Rape) is written by Syrian playwright Sa’adallah Wannous and set in the West Bank during the First Intifada. Two women – a Palestinian and an Israeli – are raped and must confront the truth they’d been burdened with. The play follows the two families as they deal with the impacts of the assault on their psyche. How will they respond when the political becomes personal?
