It all started at the Bright River railroad station on Prince Edward Island. Matthew had arrived by carriage to pick up an orphaned boy arriving from Nova Scotia. What he found instead was a scrawny, red-headed girl. “I suppose you are Mr. Matthew Cuthbert of Green Gables? You’re late.
