About the Show
Set in Ireland in 1961, ” Elvis’s Toenail” is the story of a pregnant unmarried girl’s struggle to keep her child and avoid the ” Mother and Baby” faciilites where her child will be taken for adoption. Taking refuge in a local clothing factory, Rita struggles to save enough money to escape. When the local priest becomes suspicious, the women in the factory must make a choice – will they protect Rita or surrender her to the powerful forces that control all their lives?
