A View From The Bridge centers around another of Arthur Miller’s indelible characters, an American everyman whose actions have consequences of epic proportions. Eddie Carbone is obsessed by conflicted feelings for a niece who has fallen in love with a handsome young immigrant. Unable to see his own motivations clearly, Eddie’s desire to stop the marriage puts him on a downward spiral that threatens to shatter those he loves and shake an entire neighborhood. Miller shows that men in denial of forgivable flaws can eventually destroy themselves, their families and even their community.
