Set in 1987, One Up: The Musical is an original eighties musical following Bryson, an ambitious but untested female video game programmer, who develops her own game after sneaking hers into the company's Demo Day and receiving stellar feedback. As Bryson’s career takes off she risks losing sight of what matters most: the community that inspired her and the friends who believed in her from the start. With a book by Mary Bonney and Weslie Lechner, One Up features fifteen brand new songs with music and lyrics by Matt Dahan (creator of Pulp Musicals and music director of acclaimed theater company Team Starkid) and creative consultation by Dona Bailey (co-creator of the iconic arcade game Centipede).
