The Tell-Tale Heart, with Steven as the homicidal hero of this Edgar Allan Poe short story, takes place in that strange, lugubrious world of the mid-nineteenth century, a kind of twilight zone where ghosts, hauntings and occult manifestations are the order of the day.
Dog shows Steven transform into the role of an archetypal English football hooligan and his slavering pit bull terrier companion.
