About This Show

Maureen Lipman stars in Emmy Award-winning playwright Alan Plater’s Peggy For You which transfers to the Comedy from the Hampstead Theatre. In this celebration of Peggy Ramsay, agent and champion to some of the most outstanding playwrights produced in theater today, Plater offers us a true picture of this highly-regarded woman’s life. At once daunting, beloved, and decidedly unconventional, Peggy’s own repsonse to the idea of a play about her was “Very amusing darling, but who wants to see a play about an agent?” The action takes place in Peggy’s hectic office where she reigned over the British theater world for thirty years. Robin Lefevre directs this funny, unromantic look at one of theater’s most loved sovereigns.
